PETG sheets are clear, tough plastic sheets perfect for vacuum forming projects in makerspaces or engineering labs. They heat up easily, stretch over molds without cracking, and form strong, transparent parts—plus they're food-safe for things like custom trays.

Material Properties

Type: PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)—a thermoplastic that's clearer and tougher than acrylic but easier to form than polycarbonate.
Key benefits: Excellent clarity, high impact resistance, and good chemical resistance; forms at 120–160°C without pre-drying.
Thickness: Typically 0.5–3 mm sheets sized for standard vacuum formers.
Food safety: FDA-compliant for direct food contact, safe for packaging or containers.

Usage Guidelines

Best for: Vacuum forming custom enclosures, masks, signs, or prototypes—clamps in frame, heat until soft, then vacuum over mold.
Not suitable for laser cutting—it melts, clings, or releases fumes instead of clean cuts.
Typical projects: Engineering student demos like machine guards, light covers, or product mockups.
